Ken Hornbrook was one of our first three featured artists
in the Focus One Community Credit Union Gallery. Not only was it a pleasure having him
but his photographs lightened the room. He brought more photographs the evening of the
artists reception and I saw one that would be beautiful in our offices and purchased it.
We placed it in a place where all the staff can see as they come in each morning and they
are still commenting on how beautiful it is.
There are so many beautiful photographs taken by Ken and I cannot wait until next year
and have already asked for additional funds in the budget to purchase more pieces.
We are so grateful that MAFA brought Ken and his beautiful work to our gallery and offices.

I have several of Ken Hornbrook's photographs, including two large images of Antelope Canyon.
These are more than pictures of a place; the photos capture the essence of the place and involve all the senses. When I look at the photos I can feel the temperature of the air and the rock. I can smell the aroma of unseen desert plants. I can feel the texture of the sandstone canyon walls. I know that if I speak I will hear the echo of my voice.
This is photography at its best. It communicates and connects the viewer to its subject.

"Hi Ken,
It was great to meet you tonight. I went to your site right after you
left and was SO impressed! Not only is the quality great but your sense
of composition and lighting is fantastic. Really!
I'm an "old" backpacker myself! Before this wheelchair (I fell off a
ladder 17 years ago) I spent every summer in the High Sierras - from
Lake Tahoe to working at Tioga Pass to hiking the John Muir Trail. I
not only have been to many of your locations - but I recognize the very
spots!!
Especially Lone Pine! We have a small ranch in the Alabama Hills of
Lone Pine - in fact, we'll be going up the day after Christmas! I've
explored that area a lot in my Jeep (equipped with hand-controls) and am
looking to doing some reference photography for future paintings.
Well - we must chat more! Perhaps some day you can come and visit! It
would be a great "home base" for all kinds of great photo shoots!
Cheers!"

P.S. Just a thought - have you ever considered doing a "One Man Show"
of your work?

" I feel compelled to write you and commend you on your excellent photography and wonderfully professional website. In kind of a positive vicarious way, I get pleasure seeing truely good work such as yours, emerge like a wildflower of hope from the commercial detritus of the internet; and on the first page of a Google search--cool. You can probably sense this is a rare occurance for me.Coming upon Ken Hornbrooks inspirational images on the internet is like walking off of a busy downtown street into an expansive courtyard filled with the gentle music of nature." Malcolm Childers - Roadsongs.com.
"I am a photography student in a small college in Wisconsin.
In my class I had to do a report on a fine art photographer. In my search I found your
website. I enjoyed your photographs immensely, especially the one where the reflection
of the mountain is as clear as the mountain itself. Also I enjoyed the use of line in
the canyon pictures." Leah S.....
"Ken Your work is perfection. I have been in photography for 2 years and I hope some to be half as good as you are.

"Hi Ken,
Your photos can only be described as superb. My wife and I visited Yosemite and Carmel a
few years ago, it was splendid. I would welcome the challenge of attempting an oil painting
based on one of your photos.Would you give permission for this? I would only display it at
home, not on the site.

"Ken, Thank you for putting your beautiful works on the internet.
I went through the entire gallery. I aspired at one point to be a photographer but never
quite got any where with it. My work is similar to yours. I have taken photographs from
the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and half the states in between. I will be encouraging
others to visit your website, with the hopes that some will be able to purchase your
excellent work." Sincerely, Michael Smith

I just looked at all your photos and all I can say is "wonderful." I'm currently taking
photo classes at my local college. Your compositions are breath taking. Now that I'm

for sharing with the rest of us." Heidi Baird
"Ken, I really like the feeling you capture with your images. Your panoramas are
just as special as the rest of your images. I really enjoy working with panoramas - and the unique challenges of working
with such a wide format. I'm able to capture so much more of what I've
always wanted to be able to put on film. Best wishes for the holidays!" Carl photos@carlheilman.com

"I just thought I'd send you a quick note to let you know how
beautiful your photography is!!! I just happened upon your site and was totally impressed
with your pictures. You were definitely in the right place at the right time with the
dramatic skies in some of your shots. WOW! I travel the western US in the fall just
for fall photography and love it. Unfortunately I can't afford to buy anything, but
your website is well worth viewing..." Barbara V.....
"I am a tiger cub scout leader. This month my scouts are working on several
projects, one of which is an art belt loop. To earn this belt loop they
must examine differet types of art and find uses of shape, color, pattern,
texture, etc. I was wondering if you would mind if I printed out some of
your artwork to use as examples. Your photos have so many of the beautiful
qualities I was to show them. I would of course, give you credit on all of
your work as well as provide the link to your website to the parents at the
meeting and at our monthly pack meeting. Please let me know if this would
be acceptable to you."
Thank you for your consideration!

"I just wanted to let
you know how much I am enjoying your photographs! I see where
you got the word inspirational. I am in Dayton Ohio. I have been
very passionate about my photos for about two years. My family
have all been patient. I have not been able to focus on anything
including photography. I am in the middle of seeing your great work.
It is a beautiful day here today and I now have to get myself
out there.
Photography has helped me greatly and I just want you to know
your work has inspired me to get out and take some beautiful
photos. Of course I will finish viewing the rest of your site when I
get back in. Thank you for your work and a chance to share my
appreciation of it." Gratefully yours Beverly W.....
